making personalised health intelligence previously only available to athletes and the wealthy accessible for the first time
For years, understanding your health has meant navigating a maze of wearables, blood tests, GP appointments, podcasts, and more recently AI chatbots that sound confident but can't tell you what's actually going on with you. Most of us are doing our best. But without the full picture and the right expertise to connect the dots, effort doesn't always translate into impact.
That changes today.
Calibre launches out of stealth to do something that hasn't existed before at this level, and at this price. Calibre gives you a complete, continuously evolving picture of your health, and tells you exactly how to change it. Not a snapshot. Not a dashboard. A proactive health partner that evolves with our over time.
Until now, this kind of personalised health intelligence has required a private team of specialists costing thousands of pounds a year. Calibre is available from £69 a month.
Why we built this
The problem isn't that people don't care about their health. The problem is that caring has become a part-time job, and most of us don't know if what we're doing is actually working. Despite rising life expectancy, people in the UK now spend around 25% of their lives in poor health. 74% of UK adults believe that establishing good health habits is key to preventing future illness, yet 37% still find it difficult to know what their body actually needs.
Many have turned to AI for answers. 230 million people now ask health-related questions on ChatGPT every week. But general AI tools alone can't deliver health outcomes. While they can tell you what may correlate, they can’t tell you what’s actually causing how you feel. That takes clinical expertise, the right diagnostic tests, and a complete picture of you.
Calibre brings all of that together.
How Calibre works
Calibre combines clinical experts and causal AI to identify the underlying drivers of your health by connecting your medical history, daily behaviours, and environmental context with the right diagnostic tests at the right time. The result is a complete, evolving health assessment and a personalised plan built around the few things that will genuinely move the needle for you.
All clinical care is currently delivered by our partner DocTap, a CQC-registered provider. We have submitted our own CQC application, reflecting our commitment to delivering care to the highest clinical standards.
The team behind Calibre
Calibre was co-founded by Alexander Weber, who spent the past decade building and scaling high-impact consumer companies including N26, where he served as Chief Growth Officer; Ben Levy, who previously built and scaled health tech companies including Elvie and Manual; and Dr. Reinhold Innerhofer, a medical doctor and sports scientist who has worked with Olympic medallists, world champions, and hundreds of people to meaningfully improve their health.
Today's funding announcement
Alongside today's launch, we're announcing $3.3M in pre-seed funding, led by Berlin-based Amino Collective, alongside Daybreak Ventures, Cocoa Ventures, and a group of experienced founders, operators, and medical experts. We're proud to have Gousto founder Timo Boldt and N26 co-founder Maximilian Tayenthal as angel investors.
Alex Weber, Co-founder and CEO of Calibre: "Over the last years, we have been witnessing a generational shift in how people think about health, from health being the absence of sickness to it being the foundation to live life fully. Left alone by the system, people are now in the era of health guesswork. Calibre is what comes next: a proactive health partner for life that deeply understands your full picture, tells you what's actually driving your health, and guides you as your health evolves. Our vision is a world where everyone has the health to realise their potential."
Manuel Grossmann, General Partner at Amino Collective: "Consumer health has been full of tools that track everything and change nothing. Calibre is changing health outcomes by understanding what's actually driving them, and helping you to take action."
Timo Boldt, Founder and CEO at Gousto: "I built Gousto on the belief that food is medicine. But food is only a part of the picture, and the UK's health crisis makes that clear. What's missing is the full picture and the personalised insight to act on it. That's where Calibre comes in."
Maximilian Tayenthal, Co-Founder of N26: "We're seeing the same shift in healthtech that we saw in fintech a decade ago. Consumer expectations are outpacing legacy systems. Health is now at that same inflection point, and Calibre is addressing it."
Calibre is open for early access today, with a growing waitlist ahead of nationwide rollout.
